A number of low emission zones which affect bus and coach operation are either planned or in operation in provincial centres outside London. The situation is changing rapidly and this factsheet will be kept updated to reflect developments.
Some of these schemes also affect other classes of vehicle, but only the bus and coach specific requirements are specified here.
It is anticipated that a clean air zone will be implemented in Bath in late 2020, which will require all buses and coaches that do not comply with Euro VI exhaust emission standards to pay a fee of £100 per 24-hour period to enter the city centre.
