Covid-19 is a disease that is caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronovirus 2). It is highly contagious, and is mainly transmitted through respiratory droplets and aerosols from infected individuals.

Generally, Covid-19 will cause the most serious symptoms in people categorised as “(extremely) clinically vulnerable” — those with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with chronic conditions such as diabetes, cancer and lung disease.
