Summary

Conducting regular appraisals is a way to ensure that employees are supported, motivated and encouraged to develop. This in turn helps early years providers maintain a high standard of provision. There are a number of ways to approach appraisals, but often the simplest processes are the most effective. In addition, providers should be aware that the appraisal process should be separate from any pay reviews to ensure the appraisals are conducted honestly and have effective results.
