The Agency Workers Regulations 2010 came into effect on 1 October 2011. They are the UK’s response to the Temporary Workers Directive, which was agreed by the European Parliament after many years of debate and dissension. The UK regulations also reflect an agreement made between the CBI and the TUC under the last Labour Government.
