Automated systems in vehicles are intended to make driving easier and safer.
Automatic emergency braking systems (AEBS) are already mandatory for goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and passenger carrying vehicles with more than 8 seats, other than those for which an exemption applies. Goods and passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and 8 seats will be required to have AEBS from July 2022 for new types and July 2024 for new registrations. Advanced Emergency Braking Systems
