• Automated systems in vehicles are intended to make driving easier and safer.

  • Automatic emergency braking systems (AEBS) are already mandatory for goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and passenger carrying vehicles with more than 8 seats, other than those for which an exemption applies. Goods and passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and 8 seats will be required to have AEBS from July 2022 for new types and July 2024 for new registrations. Advanced Emergency Braking Systems
