Suzy works as a buyer for a large department store. She is outgoing and friendly and talks a lot about her partner who lives and works 200 miles away. She visits him or he visits her every weekend.
However, her manager, Chris, the head buyer, is getting increasingly frustrated with Suzy’s poor record of attendance. To his knowledge, she is in good health but she appears to be absent on sick leave for a couple of days at least once a month and these absences are usually on Fridays or Mondays.
Chris is aware that other members of the team are picking up her work during her absences and he knows that this is placing stress on her colleague, Lucy.
