More than 100 years of political activism on women’s rights across different countries have helped to surface the universal economic and social benefits to be derived from the invaluable difference women can make when enabled to reach their potential. It has broadened the agenda for progress on women’s equality beyond human rights to embrace the concept of gender inclusion.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is an annual global event celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
