What is future proofing? Many HR organisations plan their recruitment, retention and their succession planning and sadly, in times like this, also redundancy, with a clear picture of today’s needs and of the recent history. Few organisations ensure that their HR needs are anticipated in line with changes in the business environment. We are living through very volatile, unpredictable times, high in uncertainty and ambiguity. But there is a set of activities which HR can undertake to provide better advice on the organisation’s needs, not just today but in facing the future. This set of activities is called future proofing.
