While economists are divided as to whether we are currently in a recession, or just heading towards one, there have been several recent stories about how organisations are reducing their staffing as a way of cutting costs. Several major organisations have announced big job reductions in recent months, including Rolls Royce, Royal Dutch Shell, CitiGroup, Royal Mail and Nokia.
