Summary

The Care Act 2014 is the biggest overhaul of adult social care law and practice in more than 60 years.

It reforms the law relating to care and support for adults, to the support for carers, and makes provision about safeguarding adults from abuse or neglect and the provision about care standards. It also establishes and makes provision for Health Education England, and the Health Research Authority.
