We suspended one of our employees pending investigation into a serious matter. After three months of suspension, he has tendered his resignation. We are now organising his final payments, but have a question about his holiday entitlement. During the suspension period we told him he was to remain available for meetings and contact, but he had a pre-booked period of holiday. We don’t know if he actually went away, but do we now have to treat that holiday as untaken? We didn’t even call him in!
