Q
What can I do to support my child to take turns?
A
Learning to take turns is a fundamental life skill. From the earliest interactions with babies we help children to take turns by giving space in between communication which allows them time to process it and respond. Even very young babies will for example, copy their parent sticking out their tongue, and will try and mimic movements. Children develop at different emotional speeds and learning to wait for a turn and then to end a turn takes time, especially when the item or experience in question is very significant to them.
