Storing and handling AdBlue

AdBlue is used as the catalyst in selective reduction catalysis to reduce the amount of NO_x produced by diesel exhausts and is an essential component in achieving the required emission levels for meeting the Euro VI/6, and perhaps Euro V/5, standards. It is carried in a separate tank on the vehicle and an empty tank may result in the engine not starting. A warning light is fitted as a reminder to top-up the tank. Failure to maintain the system in good condition is an offence.
