A

As a general principle, all clean paper should be collected for recycling, but shiny and sparkly gift wrap is sadly the exception to the rule. The paper mills are unable to recycle wrap that is made from plastic film, has a metallic finish or is embellished with glitter. This should to be kept separate from ordinary paper and disposed of in your general waste collection. The same applies to discarded metallic or sparkly decorations, and also to glass Christmas tree baubles, which are made of a specialised non-recyclable glass.
