We had been thinking of installing solar panels on all our warehouses, and selling any surplus energy back to the grid. Will this still guarantee an income now that the Feed-in Tariff scheme has come to an end?

The Government has actively encouraged businesses and householders to invest in renewable energy solutions such as solar photovoltaic panels (solar PV). As well as subsidising the installation through schemes such as the Renewables Obligation and Green Deal, the last Government established the Feed-in Tariff, which enabled small-scale generators of renewables to supply the grid and receive an income. This scheme was closed to new entrants in March 2019. (see Q&A on the FIT).
