Q

What are access control systems and how can they be used to improve security in a general practice?

A

All organisations must control access to their premises. Access control systems are those methods employed to achieve this.

Access control is particularly important in general practice premises where a variety of patients, visitors and contractors will need to enter and leave the premises each day. Practice staff and those working at the practice must be enabled to gain access to the parts of buildings they are authorised to enter.
