How can the changes to Return to Practice schemes help with recruitment of nurses?
Nurse vacancy rates in the NHS and adult social care are known to be high in relation to rates in other public services with vacancies in England at record levels. There are in excess of 40,000 full-time equivalent registered nurse posts in the provider sector unfilled and over 5000 nursing vacancies in social care. The reality of trying to recruit trained nurses is a major challenge for both health and social care.
