Are the reforms to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) still going ahead?
The Department of Education (DfE) has published the government response to the consultation on EYFS reforms, which confirms the changes that will be made to the EYFS statutory framework. Although the Government recognises the impact of Covid-19 on the sector, it has still invited primary schools to carry out voluntary early adoption of the reforms in 2020-2021, ahead of statutory rollout to all early years settings in the 2021-2022 academic year.
