One of our employees has just returned from maternity leave and has today indicated she wants to reduce her hours to part time to assist with childcare (this has not previously been mentioned). However, during her maternity leave her manager’s hours were reduced for health reasons. The employee is now complaining that we didn’t notify her of this during her maternity leave. What should we have done? Also, with the manager working part time, we don’t think we can reduce her hours as she wants. What can we do?
