Provision of fire information

I am aware that under fire safety legislation we must provide employees with comprehensible and relevant information on fire risks and associated risk control measures. What’s the best means of meeting this requirement?

Under Article 19 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (or its equivalent in Scotland and Northern Ireland) the responsible person must provide “comprehensible and relevant information” on the risks from fire along with the measures taken to control those risks including any persons appointed to implement emergency procedures.

The Article itself does not detail when this information should be provided or how often such provision should be repeated. However, reference can be made to Article 21 on training, which requires employees to be provided with training at the time of first employment and on being exposed to new or increased risks.
