My company has a number of depots. One of them is to be closed for financial reasons. I appreciate that I shall have to meet the costs of redundancy for the staff at that depot — the nearest one is some 75 miles away — but I should like to keep one of the senior managers who works at the depot that I plan to close. He has a mobility clause in his contract of employment. Can I rely on this to move him to another depot or even to head office?
