According to the last WRAP report into food waste in the hospitality and food service (HaFS) sectors, food waste will rise to £3 billion by 2016. The core findings of the survey include the following.
The total amount of waste, including food, packaging and other “non-food” waste, produced each year at HaFS outlets is 2.871 million tonnes, of which 46% is recycled, sent for anaerobic digestion or composted.
