We would like to implement a more formal programme for incorporating mental health into our main occupational health and safety programme. How can we do this?

If you already use BS ISO 45001 to manage your health and safety and occupational health system, then BS ISO 45003:2021 Occupational Health and Safety Management. Psychological Health and Safety at Work. Guidelines for Managing Psychosocial Risks, is the obvious next step.

The new standard, which was published in June 2021, sits alongside ISO 45001 and follows the same high-level structure, as well as the same Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, so those familiar with ISO 45001 will find it easy to incorporate into current systems.
