What action does the practice need to take about stress in the workplace? Is there a law relating to stress at work which we must comply with?

A

There is no specific law relating to stress at work. However, the Health and Safety at Work, etc Act 1974 places a general duty on employers to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of their employees. In addition, under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 employers must assess and manage risks, including those caused by stress.
