A

On a European basis, the weekly RAPEX reports give a good picture of recent enforcement action.

RAPEX is the “Rapid Alert System for dangerous non-food products”. It allows the 31 participating countries (EU member states, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and the European Commission (EC) to exchange information on products posing a risk to the health and safety of consumers and on the measures taken by these countries to mitigate or eliminate that risk.

The system also covers products posing risk to the health and safety of professional users and to other public interests protected by relevant EU legislation, such as environment and security. It does not relate to food, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, which are covered by other mechanisms.
