Hot summer weather has caused many of you to ask, are there any guidelines on how to best protect our children and staff?

In England, guidance is provided in the Heatwave Plan published by the Department of Health. The plan is accompanied by a series of Public Health England information sheets.

Looking after children and those in early years settings during heatwaves: guidance for teachers and professionals, available on the GOV.UK website, states that children are unlikely to be adversely affected by hot conditions as long as sensible precautions are taken.
