A man with early dementia has started talking to his care worker about being gay. How can we ensure our home care services provide the best care for LGBT+ people who may also have dementia?

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is currently looking at inequalities across health and care and will consider whether services are inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender + (LGBT+) people. They will monitor sexual orientation and gender identity when gathering service user and carer feedback and assess whether minimum standards of care are being met for LGBT+ people.
