What is the recommended way to respond when an employee at our GP practice calls in sick?
Employees are required to contact their line manager as soon as possible on the first day of absence if they are unable to attend work. Your response as a manager can really affect how they feel about their work when they are too ill to come in, and you need to be supportive while making sure that you have the information needed to keep things functioning at work, and ensuring the staff member can return as quickly as is appropriate.
