What are GP federations, and what is the Supporting Federations Online Learning Network?
A GP Federation is a group of practices and primary care teams working together, sharing responsibility for developing and delivering high quality, patient-focussed services for their local communities.
The concept of a primary care Federation was first set by the Royal College of General Practitioners in its September 2007 document The Future direction of General Practice: A roadmap, which focused on a model whereby practices would work together more closely to share resources, expertise and services.
