My employer, as part of its work activities, undertakes welding. I have been informed that we must complete a risk assessment in relation to exposure from electromagnetic fields from this activity. Is this so?

Under the Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations 2016, employers need to consider any risks arising from exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Exposure to high levels of EMFs can give rise to effects that may be irritating or unpleasant and, depending on the health of the individual worker, might have more serious outcomes.
