Q

Is the CQC changing the way it uses Experts by Experience during the pandemic and as its regulatory model evolves?

A

Following the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC’s) recent procurement process, the charity Choice Support was awarded the contract to deliver Experts by Experience (ExE) services across England. This means that from 1 April 2020 Choice Support has been delivering ExE services through a new single national contract across all four CQC regions, ensuring the ExE programme continues to operate.

The contract, worth £11.4 million, will run for three years to 1 January 2023 and promises to deliver ExE services to CQC inspections and to help with monitoring “to support the CQC’s current and future regulatory model” as it responds to the ever-changing environment.
