Holiday entitlement for part-time workers

How do we work out the holiday entitlement for a part-time employee who works two days per week?

A

Every worker is entitled by law to (a minimum of) 5.6 weeks’ paid holiday each year. For a full-time employee, this equates to 28 working days. This entitlement should be pro-rated for part timers, so for an employee working two days a week, holiday entitlement would be 11.2 days (2 x 5.6 weeks). The employee must receive his or her normal rate of pay (including any allowances, commission and regular overtime) when on holiday.
