University staff ‘angry’ over pandemic response

A petition demanding that the government move learning online at all UK universities immediately has been launched by the union representing university staff as Covid-19 cases on campus surged to over 20,000.

The tax office (HMRC) is aware that many individuals and businesses are facing difficulties in paying tax debts that are due, particularly during the Covid-19 crisis and associated lockdowns. Whilst there have always been facilities for taxpayers to manage their tax debts, HMRC traditionally have not given much leeway with late payments of tax. Their attitude has, however, softened during this crisis to provide support to business in these difficult times.
