Many of you will have experienced delays due to the adverse weather conditions today, in particular the snow, which has affected several parts of the country.
More snow is forecast; therefore it is important that you are aware of the simple precautions you must take.
In most areas, main roads are kept reasonably clear and simple precautions like driving at slower speeds and allowing more time for your journey will suffice.
Please follow this self-explanatory guidance:
listen to local and national weather news
listen to national and local travel bulletins
prepare your car by checking anti-freeze, tyres, battery, washer bottle and enough fuel for the journey
put warm clothing in the vehicle
make sure mobile phones are fully charged
consider if your journey is essential
plan your journey and allow extra time
let someone know where you’re going and what time you are expected to arrive.
