Francesca Broadbent reports on the British Safety Council’s recent Going Beyond Gold conference, which sought to spread the health, safety and environmental best practice messages learned in constructing the venues and infrastructure for the London 2012 Games.

The Olympics is in the air, on the air – in fact, it would be hard to find someone who is not talking about it. The recent Going for Gold conference celebrated the health and safety achievements of the Olympic Delivery Authority, CLM the delivery partner, the contractors and all who worked on the construction projects in managing the many, varied risks they faced. What is the legacy they are leaving?

Three people shared views on what it takes to build and sustain a safety culture – an environment critical to keeping people safe from harm.
