As we look back at the 20th century, it is clear that our understanding of physical health grew exponentially, from the now common use of X-rays to the lifesaving vaccines which have defined the past year in our battle against Covid. Our understanding of our physical health and our approach to ensuring we have skills across society to deal with emergencies ranging from how to disinfect a wound to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) have also improved.
