The latest figures released by HSE have exposed an ugly truth that has plagued the agriculture industry. Despite the relatively low levels of employment within the sector (nearly 300,000 workers and farmers in the UK, representing 0.5% of the total workforce), during 2010/11 there were 30 fatal injuries and 893 injuries reported.
