The trustees of the British Safety Council have bestowed on Sir John Armitt, CBE, chair of the Olympic Delivery Authority, an award for distinguished service in recognition of his outstanding contribution to health and safety. The award, granted for the first time, was presented in a ceremony held at Lincoln’s Inn on 6 December 2012 with the participation of organisations that worked in the construction of the Olympic venues.
