When are we required to establish a hearing protection zone to protect workers from the risk of suffering hearing damage or hearing loss due to exposure to excessive noise?
Under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, employers are required to provide their employees with personal hearing protection (such as earmuffs) if their noise exposure is likely to reach or exceed the upper exposure action values set out in the regulations.
