The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, generally recognised as the most prestigious business awards in the UK, are not easily won - since they were first established in 1966 fewer than 7000 companies have earned the right to display the Award's insignia.
For those that succeeded, however, winning brought multiple benefits including global recognition as a company, a huge boost to staff morale and increased growth.
The aim is to recognise and encourage the outstanding achievements of UK businesses in the fields of: Innovation; International Trade; Sustainable Development; and Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility).
It is possible to apply in more than category and, with a deadline of 1 September 2017, the Awards are free to enter. All the entry and other details can be found at http://bit.ly/2tM4Ebz.
Size is not an issue as the organisers make clear: "Whether a small business with a great innovative product or service, or a larger company running an impressive social mobility programme, these Awards are a prestigious way to recognise your contribution to enterprise."
Almost all UK businesses (including non-profit) can apply.
Shortlisted organisations will be notified in October 2017 and must provide verified commercial figures in November. The winners will be announced in March 2018.
They will receive a Grant of Appointment, a presentational item and the Queen’s Awards emblem. Next summer, representatives from the winning organisations can expect an invitation to a Buckingham Palace reception hosted by the Queen.
