The Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises that visitors should “take care in areas bordering Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan”. It says, “Uzbekistan’s borders are potential flashpoints and uncontrolled border areas may be land-mined. Also, borders are subject to closure without notice.”
Republic bordered by Kazakhstan in the north and west, the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan in the east, and Afghanistan and Turkmenistan in the south.
